The dramatic rise in the far right and a significant increase in stop and searches of Muslims by the Police appear to be fuelling this perception of negative stereotyping.

British Muslims "demonised"
A study by the Policy Research Center a Muslim think tank has found, not surprisingly Muslim youth feeling demonised by the Media and Police.

Join the club. Exactly the same thing happened to the Irish community here in the UK during the 1970's after the IRA started a bombing campaign in London, Birmingham and other UK cities which ended in the Balcombe Street siege.
ReplyDeleteThere was little or no concern about whether the Irish community felt it was being unfairly demonised either. At that time there were still signs outside factories saying "No Irish or Blacks need apply". Things have changed
