London Muslim notes that the latest Muslim to possibly want a bit of English Premiership football action is Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdullah al-Saud.
I've previously written extensively about the institutionally racist nature of English Football where despite Muslims increasingly being represented in the boardroom and on the pitch, as supporters we are still being treated like second class citizens.
While I'm often wary about how the buffoons in the House of Saud behave politically and economically, Muslim sporting engagement in my opinion is one area which if handled appropriately can provide a significant beneficial impact for the UK Muslim community. As a result London Muslim urges the Muslims buying into English football to begin to help overhaul attitudes at the highest levels in English Football starting with the FA and Premier League that continue to prevent Muslims enjoying football without the harassment and aggression that still pervades a number of football grounds.
Perhaps one day the Sports Minister, Chief Executive of the Premier League and FA or even football clubs themselves might one day arrange Iftar parties where they invite both Muslim and non Muslim players and supporters in order to help break down the barriers of misunderstanding between communities.
